US MANUFACTURER OF ELECTRIC POWERED FOLDING BICYCLES INTRODUCES THE MODEL-E BIKE |
“A Purist approach to E-powered Cycling” |
The Model-E bike is currently the lightest, electric powered folding bike with full-size wheels.
A standard configuration weighs less than 44 lbs (20 kg) including the battery and charger.
BENZINE CYCLES has simplified the electric propulsion system. The middle motor configuration enables the rider to maintain direct drive when pedaling either independent or in conjunction with the motor. This design completely eliminates the drag that is commonly experienced from hub powered motors. The result is a folding E-bike that truly rides and feels like a bicycle.

The “Rigid” Fold
Using the Montague Patented Folding System, the Model-E bike can be easily folded for storage or transportation. Originally developed as a military E-bike at the end of the last century, the Montague Patented Folding System proves to be an even better match for modern day electric propulsion systems.

Heritage
“Motorized bicycles have a common place in history and have been a great source of inspiration for the Model-E design. Finding economic ways to power the greatest invention (the bicycle) has always inspired people and speaks to the imagination”, says Marcus Van Oosterum, owner of BENZINE CYCLES LLC. |

Sensibility of Design
Keeping things simple, the Model-E uses no proprietary battery technology. This helps to control the cost of ownership and allows for greater flexibility adapting to new battery technologies as they become available. The Model-E will operate on most present and future high power, 24 volts batteries. All motor versions and electronics are readily interchangeable. No programming, unlocking or registration is needed to operate the Model-E.
